OUR LEATHER

Arrow Moccasins are created using extra heavy, quality Swiss hides. Switzerland is the only country in the world that produces hides thick enough, up to a ¼ " thick, to use in making moccasins without a conventional shoe sole. The hides are tanned in England; the same country that tans the best bridal leathers.

A special tanning process is used by a small, family owned tannery, that no one in the world has been able to copy. The fibers are tightly joined in the process; yet are pliable enough to allow the leather to mold to your feet and breathe.

WHAT ABOUT STITCHING

Our moccasins are completely hand sewn with a Dacron Polyester thread. This thread is coated with beeswax before use and is the very best on the market. Every pair is sewn with a knot in each stitch. We guarantee the stitching for the life of the moccasin.

EXCHANGES AND REFUNDS

We accept exchanges or refunds, as long as the moccasins have not been worn. If you require an exchange, please tell us what you would like. Also, include a copy of the credit card receipt, if you used a card.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SINGLE & DOUBLE SOLES?

Single sole means that the moccasin is crafted from a single thickness of leather. Where as Double sole means that the moccasin has an extra thickness of leather stitched to the outside bottom of the sole to provide double protection for your feet.

Our Bush Boot & French Canadian Boot are available only in double sole.

FOOT SIZES

Order what you usually wear in a dress shoe size. Our regular sizes are: Men's 6 thru 13, D width, Women's 4 thru 10, B width. Also in half sizes, unless otherwise specified. Special sizes and widths cost slightly more, from $7.00 to $11.00 and a tracing of your feet should be made and sent along with your regular shoe size.

A foot tracing is only as good as it is made. First, have someone else do it. You should stand on a piece of paper with your weight evenly distributed on both feet, standing with your head erect. Don't look down at the person making the tracing. Most important, to have the person doing the tracing keep the pen straight up and down, perpendicular to the floor. A little bit in or out will cause a big difference in fit.

FIT & COMFORT

Once you receive your moccasins put them on with a pair of the socks you would normally wear with them. Lacing them up, leave them on your feet for a while. Its generally recommended that your longest toe be 1/4" behind the toe stitches. But most of all they must be comfortable to you. New moccasins may feel a bit stiff at first, this is normal, but they should never be so tight as to cause you pain. If they do, then they are not the right size.

MOCCASIN CARE

If you would like your moccasins to last, we recommend that you clean them and occasionally use Mink Oil. Leather is "skin", and as such needs to be moisturized. We have 2 5/8oz. tins of Mink Oil available for $4.00, plus shipping.

Most important, if you get your moccasins soaking wet, let them "air-dry" naturally. Do not use heat sources such as stoves, campfires, hairdryers, etc.. These procedures will leave your moccasins dry and crisp, and unable to be restitched or resoled. To help seal out unwanted moisture, you should also considered applying Sno-Seal to help preserve and restore your moccasins. We have 8 fl.oz. jars of Sno-Seal available for $6.00, plus shipping.

RESOLING

We are able to resole styles 1 through 7, S and SL. However, we cannot resole styles CS, L, LF, LH, PT, SS or TM. When moccasins wear out, they can be resoled as long as the leather is in good condition. If a single sole moccasin wears out, another sole can be put on.It is best to have this done when the leather is getting thin in a spot, rather than waiting for a big hole to appear. The hole in a single sole will never disappear, it will always be there, even when another sole is placed on the bottom. For a double sole, we recommend a resole when you get a hole in the first sole. Resoles cost $60.00.
